This is the ‘Non-Dismemberment’ version that ROCKS enough for the whole family to enjoy. It was arranged and made popular by Johnny Only, whose target audience is kindergarten, pre-K and toddlers. With a need for lyrics that were developmentally appropriate for this age group, he arranged this non-violent version which is also without the negative (albeit funny) stereotyping of the grandparents.

The original camp song version was, and still is, a popular ‘chant song’ done at day camps for school age kids with many variations in the lyrics which usually include a humorous depiction of the grandparent sharks and later a shark attack accompanied by loss of limbs, often death and sometimes even reincarnation (coming back as a baby shark, of course).
